I thought phishing attacks, at least to me, were easy to spot, and for the most part they are.

However, with unicode substitution, they aren't easy to spot whatsoever, especially with how browsers are now interpreting this substitution.

There's a great blog post about it that explains what it is, and how to change your browser settings so that it is much easier to spot. I made the necessary change noted, and it does actually work.

Here is a link to the blog post: https://www.wordfence.com/blog/2017/04/chrome-firefox-unicode-phishing/

Thanks to snikosniko for posting this on his Twitter - thought I would share here since I thought it was interesting.

All I can say is that browsers instead of helping us go against us in this case. They should indeed show the URL with all the chars not "parsed".
